Dear Space Educators,
I'm managing the Lunar Mission One Education Programme

LM1 is a plan for an international space exploration mission to the Moon. It will drill deep for science, and then place an epic record of life on Earth that could survive a billion years, awaiting discovery long into the future. This digital archive will be developed by tens of millions of people participating in a global educational project to learn about history and civilisation, and about the natural world we all live in. There are also many project ideas to interest people in the mission .
You can read more about LM1 on our website : www.lunarmissionone.com

• Under the scientific mission a big educational programme is developed. And to prepare for this main programme, LM1 has imagined a "Pilot Programme" with schools from each major culture around the world to test ideas for schools.
The ideas need to cover any subjects, any age, any ability and any culture
This would accord with our aim of global inclusiveness! The pilot will take from 3 to 5 years, as that is the timescale for setting up the arrangements of the main space mission and undertaking the main education programme- all finishing with space operations in around 2024 or 2025

As I mentioned before, we want the education programme to include all cultures, all abilities and all ages. At this point, it is up to the school to decide what they
would like to do - there are several projects for students to try ( see the
attached Teachers'Toolkit).
We have only just started but already we have pilot schools from the different
continents..
For Belgium we have 2 schools and we are looking for others from different parts of the country

To register your school, please, send the following information to Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser.

-name of the school
-address of the school
-country
-age range of the students
-contact person
- e-mail of the contact person

• We also have a growing network of enthusiastic volunteers who form themselves into local "Chapters". These Chapters do things that interest them about LM1, and help to support awareness and interest, especially in the pilot education programme. There are 17 chapters so far, and the list is growing.
For Belgium we have a Chapter Lead for the French Community but we also need one for the Flemish and German ones

• Chapter members are all types of people - they are often space enthusiasts but they do not have to be. 15% are artists! Some are interested in the idea of documenting the world, especially as a way of learning about it, both humanities and nature. Others are interested in the idea of global collaboration in space exploration. Others are interested in whether we are alone in the Universe, and the future of our planet.

For other information, please don't hesitate to contact us.
I'm looking forward to hearing of you.
Best regards
